Glenda McDonald took up an Andrew Mellon Research Fellowship as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Columbia University in September 2009.  Working with Professor William Harris, her current research interests include:

• the history of mental illness in the ancient world
  

During her time at Columbia University, Dr McDonald will also be revising and expanding her PhD thesis (supervised by Professor van der Eijk and Dr Andrews at Newcastle University) on Concepts and treatments of phrenitis in ancient medicine.
