Job Description
The
successful applicant will have a PhD or
equivalent doctoral degree and provide
high quality teaching in History of
Medicine, including ethical issues in
medicine up to the present, for an
interdisciplinary range of students at
undergraduate and taught postgraduate
level.
This
fixed-term, full-time lectureship arises
from a Wellcome Trust Strategic Award
and is tenable for 9 months from 1
October 2011. In addition to the
criteria specified above, the successful
applicant will also contribute to the
lively research culture of the
department, which has particular
strengths in History and Philosophy of
Science and Medicine, and the Centre for
the History of Medicine and Disease (www.dur.ac.uk/chmd).
Teaching experience in history of
medicine is required.
